Sue Rippe is a college biology teacher at Olathe Northwest High School. Rippe has a long list of achievements in academics most notably being inducted into the National Teacher Hall of Fame this past month.
Rippe is at it again recently being nominated by ECEt2 which is a teacher collaboration organization founded by Bill and Melinda Gates. (The Bill Gates)
This is a huge nomination for Rippe as she continues to further her academic achievements along with continuing to teach.
When asked about the nomination Rippe replied with "It makes me fell exhilarated, I'm anxious, I'm excited, I'm humbled."
That is a long list of emotions that a teacher that has alr
eady achieved so much. So why would she feels this way about this certain organization?
"I've heard it's inspiring, it's transformational, and it will imposer me as a teacher and give me a voice" Rippe said.
Rippe is looking forward to this conference to not only learn from fellow teachers but to also better herself as a teacher.
Rippe also wants to reaffirm her love for teaching by using what she learns at the conference and incorporate it in to her teaching style.
"The best part about teaching is the relationship with my students, truly they are what inspire me each and every day' Rippe said.
The inspiration that Rippe's students provide her everyday is the reason she is as successful as she is and it is the reason that Rippe continues to teach even after a multitude of academic achievements.
Teaching is a difficult job for many people, but Rippe has embraced the challenge and has come to love her job.
"Describing teaching in 3 words, I would have to say rewarding, exhilarating, and challenging" Rippe said.
That statement right there proves that Rippe has accepted the challenge in being an educator and that is what makes her a great teacher. Rippe is the type of teacher that all teacher should strive to be like, a teacher that loves he job, and a teacher continues to improve her teaching styles even after achieving so much.
